On 4 September 2026, the Greek–Cypriot Antenna of the Interreg Euro-MED Green Living Areas Mission held its second meeting online, bringing together representatives of thematic projects from Greece and Cyprus.
The meeting focused on a key question for the Green Living Areas community: what can be learned from the implementation of pilot activities, and how can this knowledge support the successful transfer of solutions to other Mediterranean territories?
Through an interactive exercise using Miro, participants exchanged experiences and reflected on:
- Their most significant achievements;
- Challenges and setbacks encountered during pilot implementation;
- Key lessons that could support future solution takers; and
- Upcoming events and opportunities for cooperation in Greece.
The meeting also introduced the “Solutions in Action” approach, which showcases how solutions developed by Green Living Areas projects are being tested in real Mediterranean territories. Participants were also informed about the next stages of the Ecosystemic Transition Unit (ETU) Initiative and the opportunities it offers for expanding the portfolio of available solutions and supporting their transfer to other territories.
Transfer requires adaptation and cooperation
The discussion highlighted that transferring a solution involves more than replicating a successful pilot activity. Effective transfer requires adaptation to the specific territorial context, the active involvement of local stakeholders, realistic planning and an open exchange of knowledge—including lessons drawn from approaches that did not work as initially expected.

The experiences shared will contribute to strengthening cooperation between Greek and Cypriot projects and to accelerating the transition towards greener, more resilient and liveable Mediterranean territories.
